Fondue...Not Fundue!

This weekend we had a few friends over to enjoy a little fondue in the new house. I thought, this will be fun, we haven't done it in a long time. We started out with a Swiss cheese fondue served with sourdough bread, carrots, pickles and apples. It was fabulous, but we ended up burning the cheese to the bottom of the pan.
Next, we had a Caribbean style meat fondue which consisted of garlic, pimentos, onions, lemons and Gouda cheese. We used shrimp, scallops, pork and beef for our main course and once we got started everything tasted awesome, but after awhile the Gouda cheese was also burning to the bottom of the pan and everything was taking FOREVER to cook...!
So when you've got hungry people sitting around your table, what do you do? We dumped all the meat into a pot and cooked it on the stove, and once it was cooked we put the meat on a plate and wallah! Dinner is served!
After all was said and done, we decided to put the fondue dishes away for good and go to the Melting Pot. Let the professionals do it.

*We did have one good laugh from the whole thing...We found a rubber band from someones braces on the meat plate. :)
